Activities
In 2007, bilateral cooperation took the form of assistance loans, food aid and emergency aid. Only two Italian NGOs are operating in Bangladesh, with their own offices here: TDH Italia (Terre des Hommes Italia) and CEO (Centro Orientamento Educativo). Numerous important activities have been performed on a purely voluntary basis by independently-organised teams of physicians and paramedics with the support of local personnel (missionaries and friends), who come to Bangladesh in groups during their holidays, to work in hospitals in various parts of the country. In 2008, 8 such groups of between 7 and 12 volunteers spent an average of three weeks working in Bangladesh.
