Qatar is a Country of great perspectives, and it has recently caught international Community’s attention. Its sustained economic growth is a clear indicator of the successful economic development and reform program which is being run in the Country. A political development process has also led to the adoption of a new constitution in April 2003. On the regional scene, Qatar has been playing a central role in Gulf affairs over the last years, representing a veritable bridge between the Western countries and the Arab world.

In this context, Italy and the European Union have always supported the Country’s efforts along its economic, social and political evolution path. Qatar’s geographic distance and limited territory have not prevented the country from becoming an important economic partner of Italy. Bilateral relations between the two Countries, always marked with cordiality and guided by a constructive approach, are likely to get closer and stronger.

The Italian Embassy in Doha is committed to promote a deeper mutual knowledge of the two Countries. The Italian delegation recognizes the necessity to provide economic operators with a fundamental set of instruments in order for them to pick up investment opportunities, as well as the importance of promoting the cultural exchange and open dialogues with the Arab world. Bearing these two major aims in mind, the Italian Embassy in Doha operates in order to sustain Italian citizens’ initiatives and spread the knowledge of our Country amid local communities.
