    in 2008, as Italy and Vietnam celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, all the necessary preconditions are met for further strengthening their bilateral ties. Vietnam’s relentless economic development, the progressive opening of its economy and its growing role worldwide, as acknowledged by its accession in 2007 to the World Trade Organization, as well as Vietnam’s increasingly active engagement in regional and international fora, all bear tangible testimony to such prospects.
