The Third Executive Program of cooperation is effective in the field of science and technology, based on the agreement signed by the two countries in 1992. The main fields of interest are: agriculture and biotechnologies; informatics and its applications; basic sciences; energy and environment; medicine and health; preservation and renovation of ancient monuments.
   Scientific cooperation is one of the most dynamic parts of the bilateral relationship thanks to the significant achievements of recent years.
   The projects of the Fourth Executive Program of scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Vietnam for 2009/2011 have been submitted for approval.
