The Embassy headquarters

The Embassy of Italy in Zimbabwe comprises a Chancery and a Residence in Harare, the capital city.  The Residence is Italian State property but the Chancery is leased.
 
Both the Chancery and the Residence are located in the suburb of Greendale, a residential area of houses with tree-lined streets, mainly Jacarandas and Flamboyants.  Many of the other Chanceries are situated in city apartment blocks.  The buildings are placed within the same structure and are both surrounded by large gardens

The Chancery comprises, on the ground floor, a reception area, consular, commercial and administrative departments.  The offices of the diplomats and their secretarial offices are located on the first floor whilst the second floor is dedicated to the archives.

The Residence, built in the 1950’s, has an attractive terraced garden and welcoming swimming pool.
