The Consular Office

The Consular Office of the Embassy is open on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 to 11 AM.

It is necessary to arrange an appointment via email, writing at the address consitalia.kabul@yahoo.it, or calling 0093 020 2103843 or 020 2103144.

The Consular Office provides services in three areas: consular services, the Visa Section and assistance to nationals.

The official in charge of the consular activities is Mr. Federico Calabrese.   The Consular section provides Italian citizens with services related to the public registry and the issuing of official certifications, renewal/issuing of passports, and all operations related to the elections.

The Visa section issues visas valid for Schengen States and for Italy only (please see the page dedicated to the VISA procedures). It is noted that the Visa section of the Embassy presently accepts visa requests for official purposes only.

Assistance to nationals consists of the activities of registration, localization, support and information offered to all Italian citizens in Afghanistan. The objective of increasing the level of protection of civilian nationals is pursued also through the spreading of security warnings and the registration of GPS home/office coordinates.

An emergency telephone line is available 24h/24.

Any national travelling to Afghanistan is strongly recommended to contact the Embassy of Italy in order to register himself (also through the registration form available on line) and receive the security warnings.

The email address for the assistance to nationals is: connazionali.ambkabul@esteri.it. The emergency line is 0093 700288942.
