Security Warden to the Italian Nationals N.3/2006 (24.10.2006)  

The Embassy of the United States of America in Riyadh has circulated on 19 October 2006 a security warden message about possible imminent terrorist attacks against the oil infrastructures in the Eastern Province, including those of Saudi Aramco, and generally against Western nationals residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Other diplomatic sources have warned of an increased terrorist threat against residential compounds and governmental institutions.The Embassy of Italy in Riyadh believes those threats are credible and would like to emphasize once again its advise to the Italian citizens living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the above mentioned areas, to act with prudence and to strictly respect the local sensitiveness. Furthermore, the Italian Embassy would like to remind all Italian nationals the necessity to immediately report their presence upon arrival to the Embassy of Italy in Riyadh fax 00966-1-488-1951; email sicurezza.riad@esteri.it or to the Italian General Consulate in Jeddah, fax: 00966-2-644-7344, email: consolato.gedda@esteri.it so as to be included in the security plan, which also covers Italian nationals staying temporarily in the Kingdom.
