Ambasciata d’Italia Unità Tecnica Locale Sarajevo “Support to the Actions in Favour of Children and Youth in BiH” Project Officer Summary of duties and responsibilities: The Italian Co-operation Office in Sarajevo is looking for an experienced project officer, which will provide assistance to the existing management and experts’ team of the Office. The incumbent will assist in the implementation, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of projects financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Directorate General for Development Co-operation (DGCS), particularly focused on HR and youth issues under the direct supervision of the Director of the Italian Co-operation Office in Sarajevo and in full co-ordination with the expert of these sectors. He/she will work independently and be responsible for the following duties: assist in the verification and validation of baseline data and help to analyse data collected; perform a variety of complex research, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation, analytical and administrative duties; work in team, be well experienced in working with international donors; ensure results are achieved in a timely manner; conduct site visits in the areas of projects’ implementation; provide sound advice in project management; participate in meetings and be expected to translate various written documents from Italian to Bosnian-Serb-Croatian and vice versa. Qualifications required: Bachelor Degree. Master degree in development or social science is desirable. Experience: Five years of professional experience in programme management, particularly focused on development issues and human rights; demonstrating strong knowledge about the local environment, the political and institutional situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina; ability to manage complex projects in co-ordination with several staff members; demonstrates responsibility and good judgement. Highly desirable previous experience on children and youth projects.Ability and Skills: Fluent Bosnian-Serb-Croatian speaking, reading and writing proficiency is required. Fluent Italian speaking, reading and writing proficiency is required. Fluent English speaking, reading and writing proficiency is required. Strong initiative and the ability to work independently, management abilities and strong organisation skills.
