Dear Italians and Estonians,
Dear friends of Italy,  

I am honoured and proud to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Italy in Tallinn. I am also glad for the opportunity to give my best regards and wishes to all of you at the beginning of my mission as Ambassador of Italy in Tallinn.  

One of the main tasks of the Diplomatic Missions is, traditionally, to promote the mutual knowledge and to strengthen the bilateral relations in any kind of sector. This is a goal that, nowadays, must be pursued by quick tools, like the “Web”. In these pages you will be able to find a complete description of the activities of the Embassy and of the “Sistema Italia” in Estonia, as well as an overview, even though not exhaustive, of the most important sectors of the bilateral co-operation: the information is aimed both at people who are going to visit Estonia and at people interested in information about Italy.  

As far as political matters are concerned, the visitors will be able to get information about the institutional structure of both countries, also through links to ministerial and governmental agencies. The Consular section, besides illustrating the services offered to the public, also contains links to the institutional websites and allows to download the forms required for a number of services. The cultural heritage of Italy, unique in the world, is for us a matter of pride but also a duty to mankind, towards generations who handed us the treasures we must preserve, and towards future generations to whom we must transfer the cultural legacy we have received: the related section lists some events as well as the cultural opportunities offered by the country. The section dedicated to the Commercial Office offers a general overview of the Italian economic situation and the opportunities concerning commercial exchanges between Estonia and Italy.  

Finally, we did not forget the tourist willing to spend his holidays in one of the two countries and looking for practical information about flight connections, accommodations, tour itineraries and history and geography of the country.
 
The website, always open to new contents, is at present under construction; therefore, suggestions, advice and remarks are welcome to improve the quality of the services provided and to make it more and more functional, useful and complete as a work tool. I do hope that you shall assist us with your kind suggestions, which personally I consider very useful and precious.
