The enforcing of European and American sanctions and the complete closure of the main international financial institutions, together with an inadequate management of the country’s economy, stall Myanmar’s economic situation. The country, therefore, cannot begin an accelerated development process.

These limitations are reflected on the institutional relations’ frame and, as a result the few economic relationships between Myanmar and Italy are left to private initiative.
