Cultural relations between Italy and Croatia are regulated by a co-operation protocol, which estabilishes contents and conditions of educational and cultural activities for minorities, of education and cooperation at University level, of language and culture teaching, of grants, artistic heritage, cinema and radio-television production and so on.  

The protocol - signed in Zagreb on 20th February 2003 – is consistent with Art. 11 of the Cultural Agreement signed on 3rd December 1960 between the F.P.R. of Yugoslavia and the Italian Republic, and regulates cultural and educational bilateral cooperation for the period 2003-2007.
